Trusts and estates

At Clement Keys we recognise that careful and considered tax planning protects the value of family wealth that can be passed on to dependents.
Trusts
Trusts can be created in a person’s lifetime or as a result of provisions included in someone’s will.
They allow the creator of the trust to gift assets whilst retaining an element of control over them.
There are a variety of trusts which we are able to provide specialist advice on including:
• Interest in possession trust – one where the beneficiary is automatically entitled to trust income as it arises.
• Discretionary trust - in this type of trust, the trustees have discretionary powers over the income (and sometimes the capital) of a trust.
• Accumulation and maintenance trust – whilst it is no longer possible to create new trusts of this nature, we are able to provide advice on existing trusts.
We can also assist with the formation of new trusts or review the appropriateness and tax efficiency of existing trusts.
We will ensure that the trust is appropriate and that the tax position is optimised
Estates
At Clement Keys we can assist with the process of obtaining probate and administering the estate.
We will endeavour to minimise any inheritance tax liability due on the assets contained in the estate, thereby protecting family wealth for future generations.
We are also able to offer advice to clients in drawing up a will.
We can also provide accounting services for trusts including preparation of accounts, capital gains tax calculations and drafting and submission of tax computations and returns.
