Joe Bates
Joe is one of our general practice partners who provides a comprehensive range of services to clients in a wide variety of sectors.
Apart from over 30 years advising clients in a wide variety of sectors as a general practice partner, Joe has always had an interest in charities, not for profit and care. He has acted for many charities and not for profit organisations as well as being involved in them on a personal basis. In the Public Sector he has also acted on the audits of small local councils and other bodies for a number of years and has delivered lectures and training to Clerks and Councillors on many occasions.
For many years he has been an Honorary Treasurer of two charitable residential homes and is one of Clement Keys' specialists in the charities department, having particular knowledge of the care sector.
In 2008, Joe was one of the first Chartered Accountants to be awarded the newly created Diploma in Charity Accounting. He is also a member of the Institue of Chartered Accountants' Charity and Voluntary Sector Group as well as the Healthcare Group.
Joe’s interests include scuba diving (he is a qualified instructor), mountain climbing (he has climbed Mont Blanc, Aconcagua and Kilimanjaro) and skiing.
More locally, he can be found hacking around a golf course and is a member of Olton Golf Club.
