Accountants Join Charity Commission's Top 40

A Birmingham firm of chartered accountants that specialises in auditing charities and not-for-profit organisations is celebrating becoming one of only 40 firms to be appointed by the Charity Commission to a panel of professional advisers.

Earlier this year the Charity Commission embarked upon a process aimed at creating a pool of expertise which could be made available to charities in need of expert advice and assistance.

Clement Keys, Birmingham has been chosen by the Commission as an "authorised intermediary" and will be providing business planning, internal controls advice and general advisory services to Trustees. This endorsement enables the firm to work with solicitors and other professional authorised to act as Receivers Managers, throughout the East Midlands, West Midlands and the South West.

Clement Keys, Birmingham has a specialist Pension Schemes and Charities Unit and the firm recently worked in conjunction with the law firm Anthony Collins who had been appointed Receiver Managers by the Commission to two charities where misappropriation of funds had occurred.

"As the selection process was a very competitive one, and called for firms to submit highly detailed information about their experience, technical expertise and fee levels, we find it gratifying that we have been chosen by the Commission," said partner Alan Robertson.

We are delighted to be formally recognised by the Charity Commission and approved to advise organisations in the Charitable Sector.
